The Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Pushkar Singh Dhami named the Indian wicket-keeper and attacking batsman, Rishabh Pant as the brand ambassador of the state.
The southpaw was born in Roorkee in Uttarakhand’s Haridwar district.
While unveiling the cricketer as the state’s brand ambassador, Dhami said Pant has accomplished so much in the field of cricket because of his robust willpower. In spite of coming from a very humble background, he has soared to new heights and can be a source of inspiration for everyone.
“He has carved a niche for himself in the world of cricket. He has done both his state and the country proud. Honouring him as the brand ambassador will inspire young people in the field of sports to carve an identity of their own,” Dhami said.
Pant also thanked the state’s Chief Minister for granting him the honour.
On the field, Pant was last seen in the fourth T20I against West Indies in Florida. The attacking batsman has been selected for the Asia Cup 2022, which is starting later this month in the UAE. The 24-year-old has played over 100 international matches for India. In the longest format, he has fared well as he has scored over 2000 runs at a strike rate of 72.7.
