Pro Panja League announces DD Sports as official broadcaster

The upcoming competition consists of six teams.

The professional Indian arm wrestling tournament, Pro Panja League, has announced DD Sports as the official broadcast partner for its first season.

The upcoming competition consists of six teams and arm wrestlers throughout India will compete across varied weight categories. The first season of the Pro Panja League will commence in the first quarter of the following year.

Since 2020, the Indian panja competition has conducted multiple Ranking tournaments, promotional events and mega matches across the nation. Bollywood professionals, Pravin Dabas and Preeti Jhangiani, aspire to enhance the tournament throughout India and enable viewers to witness the sport at a professional level.

Panja and DD Sports have the same quality of being indigenous in nature. On the other hand, the Indian sports channel captures approximately 230 million households and has a significant reach in Tier 1, Tier 2 and beyond.

Commenting on the association, Pro Panja League Co-Owner, Parvin Dabas said, “It’s a matter of huge pride for us at Pro Panja League to be partnering with DD Sports to broadcast the League as DD Sports reaches out to every corner of the country and that’s what we’re aiming to do with the sport of Arm-Wrestling, to re-introduce and strengthen it in every corner of India from the North East to J&K to Kerala and it’s interesting to note that the sport has got quite a following in a lot of Indian States already. We thank DD Sports for placing their faith in us and together we plan on scripting a dream debut for our first season.”

Adding more on the collaboration, Prasar Bharati CEO and Doordarshan DG Shri Mayank Kumar Agrawal said, “We are pleased to partner with Pro Panja League for its first season exclusively on DD Sports. We wish to bring in all the strengths of Doordarshan to reach out to the entire universe of 230 million television households in the country. Earlier this year, Pro Panja League also joined hands with the micro-blogging platform, Koo, and Asia’s biggest NFT marketplace, Colexion.
