ONE Esports announces collaboration with HSBC

The parties involved will aim to establish content centred on financial advice within MOBA games.

ONE Esports, the esports venture of ONE Championship, has teamed up with the international banking and financial services company, HSBC.

The collaboration will launch a pilot project in Malaysia and Indonesia. HSBC will collaborate with ONE Esports on several community tournaments and at least one major event in 2022 as part of the project.

The parties involved will aim to establish content centred on financial advice within MOBA games. Although the companies did not provide any additional information, the release stated that the content will include ‘useful hints and tips as well as ‘expert advice.’

In addition to the various content types, ONE Esports will offer HSBC research and reporting on the Southeast Asian esports community’s financial services preferences and behaviours.

Carlos Alimurung, the CEO of ONE Esports, said, “ONE Esports is thrilled to unveil its partnership with global financial services giant HSBC. Esports has already achieved huge growth, and its potential continues to soar. HSBC has a proven track record of helping individuals and businesses unlock opportunities, and this partnership can help us all reach new heights.”

Jonathan Castleman, Global Head of Brand and Brand Partnerships, HSBC, commented, “We are hugely excited to partner with ONE Esports and work together to help gamers, fans, and teams with their in-game and real-life financial fitness. Our wider partnership with ONE Esports will help us to learn about an industry that is growing fast, and that is increasingly important to many of our existing and future customers.”

ONE Esports is Southeast Asia’s largest esports media company. In early 2022, the company partnered with Samsung to launch an exclusive ONE Esports app for Samsung devices. Activision Blizzard, PUBG Corporation, and Toyota have also collaborated with ONE Esports.
