Two-time pole vault World Champion and 2020 Olympic gold medalist Katie Moon has been named the International Event Ambassador for the 19th edition of the Tata Mumbai Marathon.
Promoted by Procam International, the Tata Mumbai Marathon 2024, which is set to be held on January 21, 2024, is a World Athletics Gold Label Race.
The fact that two competitors shared a gold medal together at the 2023 World Athletics Championships (Katie Moon and Nina Kennedy) was unprecedented in the history of the World Championships.
The one and only Olympic medalist holds three World Athletics Championship medals: silver at the 2022 World Indoor Championships in Belgrade and gold medals in Eugene and Budapest in 2022 and 2023, respectively. She also acquired a first place in the Diamond League in 2023. The 32-year-old American pole vaulter will also be participating in the Paris 2024 Olympics to defend her gold medal.
Moon started the year with two medals: a gold at the NACAC Championship in Toronto and a silver at the London Athletics World Cup. Moon won silver for the second year in a row in the 2019 Lima Pan American Games.
