NBC Sports to provide coverage of British Basketball League in the United States

British Basketball League will be broadcast on NBC Sports Chicago, NBC Sports Philadelphia, and NBC Sports Bay Area, the region division channels of NBC Sports.

The American sports broadcasting network, NBC Sports has secured the media rights for the British Basketball League in the United States.

After securing the deal, the professional basketball league will be broadcast on NBC Sports Chicago, NBC Sports Philadelphia, and NBC Sports Bay Area, the region division channels of NBC Sports.

Every week, two games from the league will be taken by the NBC regional networks, with one game airing on Thursdays and the other on Fridays.

Other high-profile games from the men’s and women’s divisions of the league, such as the British Basketball League playoff finals, the British Basketball League Trophy in-season tournament finals, and the league’s All-Star games, will also be shown by the networks.

Aaron Radin, Chief Executive of British Basketball League, said, “Bringing the excitement of British basketball to fans across these regions gives us an opportunity to welcome new fans into our League and showcase our world-class talent – a number of whom hail from American colleges – to new audiences. As the CEO of the League and a former NBC Universal employee, I am incredibly proud of this partnership because I know the opportunities this gives our organization, and British basketball, to reach new fans.”

NBC Sports is a Comcast subsidiary and the American programming arm of the broadcast network NBC. It is owned and run by the NBC Sports Group part of NBCUniversal. The division is in charge of the network’s sports broadcasts as well as its own national sports cable channels.

The 2023-24 edition of the premier basketball tournament commenced on September 14, and it will go on till January 29, 2024, with the final that will be played in Birmingham, United Kingdom.
