Mercari takes up regional sponsorship with MoneyGram Haas F1 Team

The partnership will see the Mercari logo prominently featured on the livery of two Haas’ cars during the Japanese GP, Miami GP, Austin GP and Las Vegas GP.

MoneyGram Haas F1 Team, the American-licensed Formula One racing team, has partnered with Mercari, a leading Japanese e-commerce marketplace.

This regional sponsorship deal kicked off with the ongoing Japanese Grand Prix.

The partnership will see the resale platform’s logo prominently featured on the livery of two Haas’ cars during the Japanese Grand Prix and at Haas’ three home races in the United States: Miami (May 3-5), Austin (October 18-20), and Las Vegas (November 21-23).

Mark Morrell, MoneyGram Haas F1 Team’s Director, Marketing, said, â€śWe’re delighted to expand our partnership roster with the addition of Mercari, a U.S. company focused on pushing the limits and raising the bar for the way e-commerce should be. Mercari is an ambitious organization that isn’t afraid to challenge industry predecessors, which is something we can relate to. We’re looking forward to collaborating on a range of unique and engaging activations across the U.S. and Japan.”

John Lagerling, CEO of Mercari U.S., said, â€śMercari is a leading destination for passionate fans and collectors looking to find everything from team merchandise to vintage memorabilia. Our community brings people together over their shared interests, and through this partnership, we look forward to uniting racing enthusiasts in celebration of this iconic sport that has seen such growth of fandom in the U.S. in recent years.”

Mercari’s online marketplace provides a community for casual sellers, deal seekers, and avid collectors to easily buy and sell items that are often hard to find. From fan-favourite apparel and accessories to rare collectibles and trading cards, the peer-to-peer selling app has something for every motorsport enthusiast to share in their fandom.

This partnership aligns with the online marketplace’s focus on fostering a passionate online community and the American F1 team’s dedication to its growing American fanbase.

Founded in 2014, MoneyGram Haas F1 Team is the first American-led F1 team in over three decades. Powered by Ferrari engines, Haas F1 features Kevin Magnussen and Nico Hulkenberg as its drivers for the 2024 season.
