Manchester City signs Expo 2020 Dubai as training kit partner

The global event also has an existing deal in place with the esports team of Manchester City.

Premier League’s defending champions Manchester City have signed Expo 2020 Dubai as their new training kit sponsor.

The two parties had previously partnered in June, with Expo 2020 becoming the club’s official exhibition partner.

The global event also has an existing deal in place with the esports team of Manchester City which has their logo being featured on the front of the club’s esports kit.

With the new one-year agreement in place, Expo 2020 Dubai’s branding will get displayed on both the men’s and women’s training kits. Additionally, the event will also be promoted at the Etihad Stadium and the City Football Academy training facilities. The event would also be featured on the club’s digital and social media platforms.

According to the agreement, City’s coaching staff will also be seen hosting regular soccer training sessions during the event. Representatives from the club and the City Football Group (CFG) will be attending various events during the event in Dubai.

Commenting on the partnership, Ferran Soriano, CFG chief executive, said, “This partnership will integrate Expo 2020 as a core part of every training session and matchday as our teams challenge for success this season.”

He further added, “Expo 2020 showcases values of innovation and sustainability that we wholeheartedly embrace at Manchester City. We are very excited to collaborate and partner with an event that will be truly spectacular, global and transformational.”

Sholto Douglas-Home, chief sales and marcoms officer of Expo 2020 Dubai, said, “Becoming the club’s new training kit partner will massively accentuate the ability of Expo 2020 Dubai to engage and inspire fans around the globe by inviting them to share in the excitement of what this unique World Expo will offer.”

Expo 2020 Dubai is a global technology event starting next week, which will be featuring people from around 190 countries.

On the field, Manchester City will be playing Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday at 12:30 AM IST. In the Premier League, they will take on Liverpool on Sunday at 9 PM IST.
