IPL 2024 records astounding 49 crore viewers on Star Sports after 42 matches

With 275 billion minutes, Star Sports has experienced unprecedented consumption for first 42 games of IPL 2024.

Star Sports, the official broadcaster of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, has clocked 49 crore viewers in the first 42 matches, according to the Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC).

Furthermore, with 275 billion minutes, Star Sports has experienced unprecedented consumption in a similar time period. Additionally, IPL 2024 witnessed a nine per cent increase in consumers, reaching 5.2 TVR.

Furthermore, the el-classico clash between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) also recorded a massive 8.4 TVR for the match. Disney Star’s superiority in IPL ratings extended with this high-octane match. Overall, for the first 34 matches of the IPL 2024, the broadcaster attracted a stunning 47.5 crore viewers, totalling 24,500 crore minutes of viewing time.

With elite IPL teams like MI, CSK, and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) falling short of expectations, these numbers demonstrate that the IPL is much more than simply the three pillars. 

Meanwhile, Star India has teamed with data analytics firm CricViz to improve the viewer experience. This cooperation adds new viewpoints to cricket analysis for the current IPL 2024 and ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024.
