Killer Jeans replaces MPL as official kit sponsor for Team India

The BCCI announced a kit sponsorship deal with MPL Sports in November 2020.

The renowned Indian apparel manufacturer, Kewal Kiran Clothing Limited (KKCL), popularly known for its Killer Jeans brand, has replaced MPL Sports to be the new official kit sponsor of the Indian cricket team.

An official announcement from both the parties involved is yet to be made but a photo shared by the leg-spinner, Yuzvendra Chahal, where he is posing with his fellow teammates wearing the Indian jersey features the logo of Killer Jeans instead of MPL.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced a kit sponsorship deal with MPL Sports in November 2020. According to the reports, MPL Sports has asked BCCI to assign kit and merchandise rights deal to KKCL. Killer Jeans was also named the title sponsor of the India-Bangladesh Test series.

The Men in Blue will commence the new year with a home series against Sri Lanka. The bilateral series consists of three T20Is and ODIs each. Rohit Sharma has been rested for the T20I series, he will join the team for the ODI series, which will start on January 10. Hardik Pandya has been named the captain of the T20I side in the absence of Rohit. The first T20I will be played tomorrow i.e Tuesday, January 3 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai at 7 PM IST.
