Italian Football Federation strikes partnership extension with Fonzies

This partnership renewal has been inked for four years in which Fonzies will serve as an official partner of the Italian national soccer team.

The governing body for football in Italy, the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) has announced a new sponsorship extension with the Mondelēz International-owned snack brand, Fonzies.

This new partnership renewal has been inked for four years in which the brand will serve as an official partner.

Fonzies are baked pretzel chips with cheese and corn. Fonzies was created in Italy in the 1980s and was first produced by Ferrero before being marketed to other producers.

As a result of this collaboration, Fonzies will have permission to utilise the FIGC emblem on its packaging as well as the Azzurri and Azzurre in digital and social media marketing. With an ad honouring the national team, Fonzies is also kicking off its partnership renewal.

Francesco Uguccioni, Brand Manager for chips at the Italian division of Mondelēz International, said, “Fonzies is the snack of fun and enjoyment and what could be more fun than cheering on national teams during competitions, in the company of people you love? Everyone loves cheering on Italy, enjoying the show and enjoying our irresistible Fonzies alone or in company.

We are proud to continue to accompany the Azzurri, the Azzurre and the Italian fans in the upcoming international football events.”

Since the beginning of 2023, FIGG also announced TIM, Telepass, Esselunga, Conte.it, Felini, and Fonzies as official partners, top partners, premium partners, and top partners, respectively.
