ISL: Indian Super League extends deal with DHL

The Indian Super League (ISL) has extended partnership deal with DHL. The extension of this deal will mean that DHL will be working with ISL for sixth consecutive year. DHL will be the associate sponsor of ISL 2020/21, delivering match balls during the ongoing season in Goa.

Along with being associate sponsor of the football league, DHL will also sponsor the Winning Pass award at the end of the season. This award will be given to the player who racks up most assists in the league this year.

DHL will also get exposure in the stadium and television during ISL games. It is likely to be present on the digital boards across the stadium. The delivery service firm is also likely to use ISL players for promotional events throughout the ISL campaign.

Sandeep Juneja, VP Sales and Marketing at DHL India, said, “Over the years, football has grown as a sport within the country. Our association too – in its 6th year – has brought in a professional approach to the sport. We have put together some exciting contests and engagements for fans and customers.”

The ISL kicked off seventh season with 11 teams in Goa on November 20. The pandemic has forced the league to hold matches behind closed doors in Goa. All teams have been bio bubbles during the pre-season schedule. There is unlikely to be any home and away advantage for fans as all games are being played in three stadiums in Goa. In the early stages of the tournament, NorthEast United is leading the table with four points in two games.
