Formula 1 extends two-decade-old DHL partnership

This agreement solidified DHL's role as the official logistics partner for grand prix and F1 events worldwide for further multiple years.

The single-seater auto racing competition, Formula 1 and DHL, the German logistics powerhouse, have extended their two-decade-old partnership.

This multi-year renewal has solidified DHL’s role as the official logistics partner for grand prix and F1 events worldwide for the upcoming multiple years.

This renewed commitment has not only guaranteed seamless delivery but also reinforced their joint dedication to advancing sustainability initiatives within the racing world.

F1’s bold vision of reaching net zero emissions by 2030 is a journey where DHL assumes a pivotal role. Their collaborative efforts have led to pioneering solutions, revolutionizing operational sustainability worldwide.

This season DHL is set to introduce out-of-the-box innovation at chosen European races: a revolutionary motorhome designed to advance carbon footprint reduction. This cutting-edge facility features solar panels, charging facilities, and recycling centres, representing a major leap towards eco-friendly event logistics.

DHL’s indispensable role in delivering prestigious accolades such as the Fastest Lap and Fastest Pit Stop awards underscores their unwavering significance within the sport, cementing their status as indispensable allies in the pursuit of excellence.

Jonny Haworth, Director of Commercial Partnerships, Formula 1, said, “As our longest-standing partner, DHL have become such a crucial part of the delivery of our events, so we’re delighted to continue that successful collaboration for many more years. Our partnership has seen the sport transform and grow, and DHL have been hugely supportive in our transition to become a more sustainable sport.

“This will continue to be key as we move towards 2030 and as sustainable logistics continue to develop, I look forward to seeing the positive innovations that come next.”

Arjan Sissing, Head of Global Brand Marketing, DHL Group, said, “In addition to renewing our partnership, we are proud to be the sport’s longest-standing Global Partner, marking DHL’s 20th anniversary as the Official Logistics Partner of Formula 1, delivering the race between the races. Both companies share a strong commitment to sustainability goals and as a pioneer in green logistics, we are delighted to maintain our collaboration with Formula 1 to achieve these objectives together.”

DHL is renowned for its global delivery services spanning over 220 nations and regions. The logistics company, headquartered in Bonn, Germany, has longstanding partnerships with Mumbai Indians‘ (MI) multiple franchises and Formula E, a single-seater motorsport championship.

As anticipation builds for the 75th Formula One World Championship, the 2024 FIA F1 season promises to be historic with 24 grand prix to be held across the globe. Scheduled to commence in March, the season’s inaugural race is slated at the Bahrain International Circuit, Sakhir.
