iQIYI Sports bags media rights for Serie A in China

Sports enthusiasts in China will be able to access Serie A content on platforms such as iQIYI Sports and iQIYI's TV app.

iQIYI Sports, a video streaming platform owned by the Beijing-based internet giant Baidu, announced that it had acquired the rights to broadcast the Italian top-flight, Serie A from the next season.

The 2022/23 season is set to begin on August 14, 2022. Sports enthusiasts in China will be able to access Serie A content on platforms such as iQIYI Sports and iQIYI’s TV app.

iQIYI Sports will provide information on the Italian competition from several perspectives, including news, competition prospects, live updates, and event highlights. It will deliver new and engaging activities through close collaboration with the Serie A teams, allowing fans to experience the charm of the competition up close.

In addition, users who purchase extra value-added services can also enjoy ad-free streaming, 1080P HD image quality, and commentary in a variety of languages.

iQIYI mainly provides online video streaming services. iQIYI Sports has successively reached long-term and in-depth cooperation with famous sporting event organizations such as UEFA, AFC, the English Premier League, and La Liga. In August, Premier League, La Liga and Serie A will start one after another, and fans will be able to enjoy games on iQIYI Sports.

Recently, Serie A inked a new partnership with WSC Sports for creating real-time highlights of the marquee Italian competition and other major tournaments.
