iQiyi Sports lands broadcasting rights of the Premier League in China

The Chinese company has signed a deal that sees it become the broadcaster of the league in the country until the 2024-25 season of the English top flight.

Chinese online video platform iQiyi announced that one of its sub-branches that goes by the name of iQiyi Sports signed the broadcasting rights deal with the English Premier League which will see the company broadcast the top tier of English football exclusively in China.

The Chinese company has signed a deal that sees it become the broadcaster of the league in the country until the 2024-25 season of the English top flight.

The details of the deal were not made public but iQiyi Sports revealed the price of the season passes of the Premier League which will be available to buy on their website or the iQiyi app.

With the season pass costing about $49 and $35 for a special early sign-up, the pass will give the fans access to each and every match of the premier league season available to watch on the iQiyi app and website.

The 2020/21 premier league season which saw Manchester City win the league with 86 points in 38 with Manchester United finishing second with a points tally of 74 points in 38 games, has been heavily awaited by fans all around the world.

With the latest season of the English Top flight starting from 13th August, iQiyi sports can expect massive viewership from the Chinese fans of the league. The new season will see all the teams going out to contest for the title once again.
