In the 69th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will take on Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad tomorrow, i.e., May 19, at 3:30 PM IST.
SRH will be playing after 10 days and will be fresh and ready to go out for the final leg of the season. The team is already qualified but a win would mean that they will advance for the Qualifier 1 match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). In their previous match against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), SRH batters completely crushed LSG bowlers and they will undoubtedly back themselves to do the same against tomorrow. Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head, both batted with a strike rate of more than 250 and if the same is witnessed tomorrow, PBKS would be in great trouble. Heinrich Klaasen and Nitish Kumar Reddy add more punch to an already aggressive approach in the middle overs. Furthermore, the Sunrisers will rely on Bhuvneshwar Kumar to do well early in the innings.
PBKS, on the other hand, are ninth in the points tally and will look to finish at one higher level. Nevertheless, the unit’s focus would be more on domestic players, who they might look to retain or buy back next season. The team also had an excellent outing against Rajasthan Royals (RR), winning the game by five wickets, which will now surely boost morale for its final encounter. Prabhsimran Singh, Shashank Singh, and Jitesh Sharma will have additional responsibilities as Jonny Bairstow and Sam Curran are already back in England. Rilee Rossouw will also have a vital role to play in the middle overs, while Harshal Patel, Arshdeep Singh, and Rahul Chahar, will be aiming to repeat the same show which they showcased at Guwahati.Head-to-Head:
SRH have thoroughly dominated the head-to-head record against PBKS. The home team has won 15 out of 22 encounters, while PBKS have only managed to win seven games.
In their last encounter, which took place earlier this season, SRH won the contest by two runs.
