In the 16th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, Delhi Capitals (DC) will host Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) tonight, i.e., Wednesday, April 3, at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam at 7:30 PM IST.
The Capitals would like to continue their winning momentum and certainly stitch a trend of defeating the table toppers. On Sunday, the unit successfully kept five-time champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) silent by winning the game by 20 runs. The opening duo of David Warner and Prithvi Shaw clicked well, and so did the middle-order batters, which included skipper Rishabh Pant. Furthermore, Khaleel Ahmed and Mukesh Kumar were also lethal in the powerplay and towards the end as well. Not to forget, Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel, a pair that always works for DC.
On the other hand, KKR became the first team of the season to defeat the home team, i.e., Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium and would like to do the same tonight. The team looked sharp, with the likes of Phil Salt, and Sunil Narine hammering at the top while Shreyas Iyer, Venkatesh Iyer, Rinku Singh, and Andre Russell delivering at the later stages. Spin bowling has worked like a charm for them but needs Varun Chakaravarthy to strike well. The only concern for the Knights would be Mitchell Starc‘s form. Nonetheless, bowling at the pacy track in Visakhapatnam is what he needs.

KKR hold the advantage over DC in their head-to-head matchup. 32 matches were played between the two teams; of which 16 were won by Kolkata, and 15 by DC. One match concluded with no result.
