IPL 2023 LSG vs SRH: Cheerful LSG dismantle Hyderabad batting, wins comfortably by five wickets

Following this win, LSG are back to winning ways and have now four points on the points table.

In the 10th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by five wickets at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.

Post winning the toss, SRH opted to bat first and it was a reasonable approach as we’ve seen massive score getting defended in this year’s edition. However, massive score is the word here which the Hyderabad-based team missed to register as the team only got to 121 runs in 20 overs courtesy some exceptional bowling act by Krunal Pandya, Amit Mishra and co.

In the chase, captain KL Rahul (34) batted almost till the 15th over and ensured that the Lucknow-based team cross the winning line. Along with him, Krunal Pandya (34) also played a fine inning which helped while chasing. Both the batters stood tall and posted 55 runs together for the third wicket partnership. The target was eventually secured in just 16 overs.

While setting up a good score, only Anmolpreet Singh (31), Rahul Tripathi (35) and Abdul Samad (21) looked decent with the bat. None of the other batters turned out sharp for the SRH fans.

While bowling in the first innings, Krunal Pandya scalped three wickets in his quota of four overs. Amit Mishra also took two wickets and also became the oldest bowler to grab a wicket in IPL. One wicket each were also taken by Yash Thakur and Ravi Bishnoi.

In the second innings, Adil Rashid bagged two wickets while one wicket each was plucked by Umran Malik. Fazalhaq Farooqi and Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

Krunal Pandya was awarded with the Man of the Match award for his excellent all round performance. Following this win, LSG are back to winning ways and have now four points on the points table.

Scorecard:

Sunrisers Hyderabad: 121/8, Overs 20, Rahul Tripathi 35, Krunal Pandya 3/18
