IPL 2021: PBKS batter Shahrukh Khan confident about delivering in tough situations

After being demolished by Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Punjab Kings’ batter Shahrukh Khan seemed hopeful and confident for the upcoming matches as he believes that he is capable of delivering for the team while batting under pressure in IPL 2021.

The 25-year-old Punjab Kings batsman, who was bought for a whopping Rs 5.25 crore, had been assigned the task of finishing off matches and see the team out through tough situations. Khan’s 47 off 36 balls was the sole reason that Punjab managed to even cross the 100 run mark after a top-order collapse at Wankhede Stadium.

The middle-order batsman in the post-match press conference said about his role of playing down the order as a finished, but also says that it’s not possible to start hitting in every game. After the game against CSK, Khan said, “You don’t expect to go out and blast in every game because there will be situations where the team bundles out and you need to take responsibility and see the team through.”

The Tamil Nadu batsman believes that his game as a finisher has improved in the last couple of years. Playing as a top-order batsman for Tamil Nadu, Khan considers it as a great opportunity to be playing in the presence of top players at Punjab Kings.

“The likes of so many big players when they see you in the nets, they say certain things here and there. It’s really going to improve your batting and obviously new to IPL. A long way to go! Will take a lot of things from them, advice and put out there and use it.”

Shahrukh Khan hails coaches at Punjab Kings

Khan has also hailed the impact of coaches Wasim Jaffer and Andy Flower on him at Punjab Kings. He believes that under their supervision, he’s improving every day, having lots of conversations with the former players. “I’m trying to improve my game one percent every session, having a good time with Wasim Jaffer and Andy Flower.”

Punjab Kings will be looking to bounce back against Delhi Capitals on April 18. After getting runs under his belt against CSK, Khan will be looking to keep the batting momentum against Delhi.
