Glossier renews partnership with WNBA for fourth consecutive year

Under the pact, Glossier will continue as the official beauty partner of the WNBA.

Glossier, a popular makeup brand, and the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA), a women’s professional basketball league, have announced the renewal of their partnership for the fourth year in a row.

Under the pact, the personal care brand will remain as an official beauty partner of the league. In addition, the extension will also see Glossier activations at key WNBA events, amping up the energy with interactive experiences.

The beauty brand will be curating extensive WNBA-themed content, shining a spotlight on the inspiring stories and journeys of the league’s phenomenal athletes.

Additionally, the makeup line will be stepping up its presence across the WNBA’s social media platforms, channels, and media partners, ensuring fans see more of the collaboration throughout the season.

Kyle Leahy, CEO of Glossier, said, “Glossier celebrates beauty in real life and our partnership with the WNBA embodies that philosophy. While we were the league’s first beauty partner, we’re thrilled to see athletes take up more space in beauty. Glossier and the W share a similar spirit, aiming to disrupt the status quo and fueled by a shared passion for what we believe in: our values. I’m excited about the future of our partnership and continuing to lend our platform to these incredible athletes.”

WNBA Commissioner, Cathy Engelbert, said, “We’re thrilled to extend our partnership with Glossier, which has continued to show a strong commitment to the league and WNBA players. This collaboration between powerful brands demonstrates that visibility and empowerment matter, and that there has never been a better time to support the multidimensional athletes of the WNBA.”

Glossier and the WNBA’s successful partnership began in 2020, highlighting both Body Hero products and the league’s talented athletes. Since then, the cosmetics company has championed WNBA stars like Sue Bird, Izzy Harrison, and Ariel Atkins in various campaigns and expanded its collaboration with courtside signage, content, and player gifts.

Glossier is a makeup and skincare brand known for its minimalist aesthetic and focus on enhancing natural beauty. Founded in 2014 by Emily Weiss, the brand rose to prominence alongside her popular beauty blog, “Into The Gloss.”

The WNBA is gearing up for an exciting 2024 season as it already renewed a partnership with Dream11. On April 15, the WNBA Draft takes place and the regular season tips off on May 14.
