Genius continues to elevate FIBA technological ecosystem in strategic deal extension 

Following the extension, Genius Sports will supply leagues and federations with cutting-edge AI-powered technology from 2025 to 2035.

The apex body for basketball in the world, the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) has secured a strategic collaboration extension with the multinational sports technology brand, Genius Sports.

Following the extension, Genius Sports will supply leagues and federations with cutting-edge AI-powered technology that automates official data collecting, live video production, and optical player monitoring from 2025 to 2035. 

With the ability to automate and synchronise the collecting of live game statistics and the creation of videos featuring enhanced player monitoring, this new technology will completely change the data and video environment of international basketball.

As per the terms of the new agreement, Genius Sports has also been selected to function as the governing body’s official partner for data and video collection and production, as well as its official partner for innovation and technology services, beginning in 2025 and lasting ten years.

Andreas Zagklis, FIBA Secretary General, said, “For almost 20 years, FIBA and Genius Sports have joined forces in developing the most innovative tools for Leagues and National Federations across all levels of basketball. Through this automated solution, our objective is to assist National Federations and Leagues to increase their reach and revenue and at the same time, reduce costs. We’re delighted to expand our partnership with Genius Sports to achieve this goal and equip the FIBA Family with first access to this cutting-edge technology in basketball.”
