European Handball Federation secures sponsorship pact with BENZ Sport

Following the partnership, BENZ Sport has been named the official goal partner of all EHF national competitions until 2026.

The apex body for handball in Europe, the European Handball Federation (EHF) has secured sponsorship ties with the German sports equipment manufacturer, BENZ Sport.

Following the partnership, BENZ Sport has been named the official goal partner of all EHF national competitions until 2026.

As per the deal, the German sports company will be providing official goals for the Men’s and Women’s EHF EURO 2024 and 2026, along with younger age category EHF EURO events and future European Wheelchair Handball championships.

The Women’s 19 and Women’s 17 EHF EURO competitions in Romania and Montenegro in the summer of 2023 will mark the debut of the new equipment.

The partnership includes the placement of the company’s branding on goals and media backdrops at the top events as well as advertising on EHF digital channels plus direct marketing opportunities to thousands of clubs and member federations through email marketing.

The German sports brand will also be providing its top-of-the-range BLACKLINE handball across national events, including the development of a new product for the EHF’s wheelchair handball tournaments.

The EHF will fully utilise BENZ Sports’ significant technical experience in developing goals for use in top-tier professional handball, which is a fundamental component of the new deal. They will work together to explore innovative concepts for the EHF’s premier competitions, including the use of cutting-edge and traditional technology in goals, as well as novel camera perspectives and other ideas.

Martin Hausleitner, EHF Secretary General, said, “We are delighted to welcome BENZ Sport to the EHF family. BENZ Sport and its staff have a huge passion for handball and this has made the development of this new goal partnership a real pleasure. Our cooperation with BENZ Sport guarantees not only the best equipment on the market for the EHF’s top events but also an exceptional level of technical expertise as we look to further develop and enhance the game at a professional level.”

Clemens Winkler, Managing Director of BENZ Sport, commented, “As an innovative manufacturer of gymnastics and sports equipment, we look forward to the partnership with the EHF. Together we will promote and further develop handball. We are proud that in the future we will be bringing our BLACKLINE goals into arenas throughout Europe.”

Established in 1907, BENZ Sport is a producer of excellent sports and gymnastic equipment. The BENZ Sport plant in Winnenden, Germany, which is close to Stuttgart, will produce the goals.
