DP World, the logistics company, has been named as the official title sponsor of the highly anticipated Asia Cup 2022 in the UAE. The logistics firm is located in Dubai.
DP World has quite made a name for itself in the sports industry through collaborations with teams and sports leagues. The logistics company has been the partner of the Indian Premier League (IPL) team, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) since 2020.
DP World has also been the title sponsor of the PGA Tour, the two parties involved recently signed a 13-year extension to their partnership.
Asia Cup 2022 will begin on August 27 when Sri Lanka take on Afghanistan at the Dubai International Stadium. The biggest match of the tournament, when the arch-rivals India and Pakistan play against each other, will be conducted on August 28 at 7:30 PM IST.
The competition was initially scheduled in Sri Lanka but later relocated to the UAE. The Rohit Sharma-led Indian team is the reigning champion. The final will be played on September 11 at the Dubai International Stadium.
The upcoming edition of the Asia Cup will be televised on the Star Sports network in India along with the OTT platform, Disney+ Hotstar.
In Pakistan, Daraz and Tapmad have acquired rights for the competition.
