Chester FC sign sponsorship extension with MBNA

With this extension, the deal is now valid up to 2025, making it a 15-year-long association between them.

Chester FC have announced a three-year extension to their sponsorship deal with the credit card company, MBNA.

The football club based in Chester, England, Chester Football Club, competes in the National League North, England’s sixth division of professional football.

The primary deal was signed back in 2010, which includes front-of-shirt sponsorship. With this extension, the deal is now valid up to 2025, making it a 15-year-long association between them. It is one of the longest collaborations in UK football, along with Manchester City and Etihad, and Arsenal and Emirates.

MBNA is a leading provider of co-branded and affinity credit card programmes in Canada. MBNA credit cards are affiliated with hundreds of Canadian organizations, community banks, sports organizations, educational institutions, and charities.

Jim Green, CEO of Chester FC’s Community Trust, said, “Our partnership with MBNA is so much more than a sponsorship agreement. After 12 successful years so far, our relationship is going from strength to strength and it is helping us as both a club and a trust to build for a brighter future.

“With an exciting new season to start and grand openings – such as the recent launch of the King George V Sports Hub – we’re looking forward to what’s to come over the next few years with loyal partners like MBNA by our side.”

Victoria Dowd, Sponsorships Manager at MBNA, said, “We’re excited to renew our principal partnership deal with Chester FC for a further three years.  We’ll be continuing to help the club succeed, alongside supporting the trust to deliver successful programmes in the community. The work and ambitions the club has  for the next three years are fantastic and we look forward to working together closely.”
