The sports arm of the JSW Group, JSW Sports has joined hands with the 15-year-old squash talent, Anahat Singh.
Anahat, the Senior Women’s National Squash Champion, has agreed to a two-year contract with JSW Sports, which will provide her with coaching and development as well as commercial representation.
Anahat’s signing is the result of JSW Sports’ ongoing efforts to foster squash in the nation via its academy in Vasind, Maharashtra. The sport was also recently added to the schedule for the Los Angeles Olympics in 2028.
“JSW has always been really supportive of different sports and athletes, and I’m really glad that they’ve gotten squash on board as well. I really look up to Neeraj (Chopra) and the other top athletes who are a part of their roster, and it’s a privilege to be one among them. I’m looking forward to a really fruitful relationship,” Anahat said.
The four-time Junior National champion also made it to the World Juniors final in 2022 at the age of fourteen, and she repeated the feat in 2023. She was also the youngest competitor in Team India’s contingent at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games in 2022.
Moreover, Anahat finished third in the Women’s Team and Mixed Doubles competition at the Asian Games 2022 in Hangzhou, making history as the youngest Indian participant to take home a medal.
Manisha Malhotra, Head of Sports Excellence and Scouting, JSW Sports, said, “Squash is a sport that we have been supporting for a very long time through our work at the Jindal Squash Academy in Vasind. With the sport now making it to the 2028 Los Angeles Games, we have more reason to further our efforts in developing squash, and signing Anahat is a big step in that direction. Her performances at the Asian Games and the Senior Nationals are a testament to the talent she possesses, and we believe we can help her develop into a more complete athlete.”
Sports stars like Shafali Verma, Neeraj Chopra, Jemimah Rodrigues, Pawan Sehrawat, Sakshi Malik, and Axar Patel, are among the Indian athletes that JSW Sports commercially represents.
