Puma secures multi-year deal as official kit partner of Delhi Capitals for IPL and WPL

Puma's collaboration with Delhi Capitals underscores its commitment to tapping into the country's passionate sporting culture.

Puma India has announced a partnership with Delhi Capitals (DC) as the franchise’s official kit partner for the upcoming Women’s Premier League (WPL) and Indian Premier League (IPL) seasons.

This strategic alliance marks a pivotal moment for Puma India, as the renowned sports brand aims to expand its presence and influence within the cricketing landscape. With cricket being a passion and obsession for millions across the country, Puma’s collaboration with Delhi Capitals underscores its commitment to tapping into this passionate sporting culture.

The multi-year partnership not only solidifies Puma’s association with DC but also signifies a deeper engagement with the franchise’s dedicated fan base. By aligning with one of the most dynamic teams in the IPL circuit, Puma seeks to bolster its connection with cricket enthusiasts while also leveraging the wealth of sporting talent prevalent in the region.

As part of the agreement, Puma’s iconic logo will adorn the leading arm of both the men’s and women’s jerseys of DC, showcasing the brand’s prominent presence on the cricketing stage. The design of the jersey itself pays homage to the heartbeat of the nation’s capital, featuring the intricate route map of the Delhi Metro Rail, symbolizing the vibrancy and energy of the city.

In addition to the jerseys, Puma will provide the players with a comprehensive range of training wear, accessories, travel gear, and athleisure attire, all crafted with the same design aesthetic as the jersey.

Furthermore, this partnership serves to strengthen the longstanding relationship between Puma and Delhi Capitals’ parent company, JSW, extending beyond cricket into other sporting realms. Puma’s existing association with Bengaluru Football Club (BFC), also owned by JSW, further reflects the shared commitment to promoting sporting excellence across various disciplines. With Puma’s unwavering support and cutting-edge sports apparel, the Delhi-based team is poised to make a resounding impact in the upcoming WPL and IPL seasons.

Sukhvinder Singh, Interim CEO, Delhi Capitals, said, “Delhi Capitals is beyond thrilled to partner with Puma for both our women’s and men’s squads. Being a franchise that focuses on young cricketing talent has always been crucial for us, which makes our association with a youth brand like Puma an organic one. We’re confident that this partnership which kicks off with the upcoming seasons of the Women’s Premier League and the Indian Premier League is going to be a cracking success.”

Karthik Balagopalan, Managing Director, Puma India said, “We are thrilled to partner with Delhi Capitals and begin our association with the young vibrant team. Delhi is emerging as a huge magnet for sporting talent with an inimitable fanbase that has a pulse on the city’s soul and local culture. As a brand, Puma has continuously championed cricket across levels, and this alliance underscores our commitment towards building the future generation of cricket as well as strong sports merchandising assets. We believe in the power of cricket to unite people, ignite aspirations and are here to push cricket and cricket culture forward.”

Jemimah Rodrigues, Cricketer and Delhi Capitals’ Vice-captain said, “We’re excited to have PUMA, a brand that’s shown tremendous commitment towards women’s sports, on board with the Delhi Capitals team. We’re thrilled for them to be a part of our journey as we look ahead to another smash-hit season of the Women’s Premier League.”
