Major League Baseball announces partnership with T-Mobile

The deal has been struck for six years in which the baseball organisation will use the 5G service of the telecom company to amplify the fan experience.

The Major League Baseball (MLB) has signed a new partnership with the American mobile network company, T-Mobile.

The deal has been struck for six years in which the baseball organisation will use the 5G service of the telecom company to amplify the fan experience.

With the help of this partnership, the American telecom entity has been named the official wireless partner of Minor League Baseball (MiLB) and Little League Baseball till 2028.

With the help of the 5G network of the brand, MLB will check and examine its automated ball strike system (ABS) which will help to know that real-time ABS data is transmitted securely.

The league will also use the highly advanced 5G network in the T-Mobile Home Run Derby during All-star Week in July alongside assisting Little League Baseball to bring more opportunities to create the next generation of talent.

Mike Sievert, CEO of T-Mobile, said, “T-Mobile and MLB are embarking on a six-year journey to deliver breakthrough fan experiences, and it’s all thanks to our leading 5G network. We’re enhancing the game on and off the field to give fans across the country even more ways to enjoy the game we all love — on top of showing our customers love with free MLB.TV.”

T-Mobile was founded in 1994 by John W. Stanton, and it is currently headquartered in Overland Park, Kansas, and Bellevue, Washington, United States. It is the second largest wireless carrier in the US, with more than 110 million subscribers as of the end of 2022.
