EuroLeague joins hands with Facebook

The US basketball fans can purchase access via the league’s Facebook page with a one-time payment.

The EuroLeague basketball competition has joined hands with the social media giant, Facebook, to bring the US Basketball fans closer. In this deal, Facebook will be having the right to live telecast some selected games during November.

The US basketball fans can purchase access to all the online broadcasting EuroLeague matches via the league’s Facebook page with a one-time payment. The games will feature the league’s most exciting rivalries and players, many of whom are quite famous in the U.S. fan base.

The Turkish Airlines EuroLeague will broadcast a game per round in the U.S. on Facebook via paid online events, which will make a path enabling the league to reach new audiences in America and open up a new revenue stream.

Following this, the competition could be seeing significant growth in their business with more investors wanting to invest to reach more audiences and turn them into customers. More competitions are turning to social media and the online broadcasting channels to see more growth in their business, in which EuroLeague will be the latest to join the race.

The EuroLeague, which is also known as the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, is a European professional basketball club competition. It is known as a top-tier league in Europe but is not part of the European basketball pyramid developed by FIBA.

There are 18 teams, who participate in this competition out of which 16 teams have long-term licenses and wild cards, following this makes the competition a semi-closed league. The most successful club in this league is Real Madrid holding onto 10 titles. Currently, Anadolu Efes, are the champions after defeating FC Barcelona in the 2021 final, this is the first in their history that they have lifted the title.
