Watford FC secure multi-year partnership with MrQ

In this deal, the logo of MrQ will be visible in front of Watford FC's jersey.

The English Football League (EFL) Championship team, Watford FC have announced a multi-year partnership with a safe gambling platform with 1000+ games, MrQ.

In this deal, the logo of the locally-based gambling company will be visible in front of the Joao Pedro-led club’s jersey. The multi-year contract is certainly a historically significant one for an EFL team.

MrQ.com, which has been independently owned and run from St. Albans since its foundation in 2018, is now the club’s main partner for the next 2023–24 season and beyond.

MrQ acts as a challenger brand within the industry and continually intervenes when potential behavioural issues are identified. MrQ believes that the use of technology can help minimise the number of people in the UK who have gambling-related problems and is consistent with their core vision, which is to shift the world’s perception of what gambling should be i.e. a bit of fun

Savvas Fellas, MrQ.com, Founder, said, “It’s a great new chapter for the club and for us. We’re excited for next season. Our business was built in St. Albans and the people who have shaped it are Hertfordshire born and bred and so we’re excited about expanding on that local story. We’re looking to raise our profile but this deal represents a lot more than just a sponsorship; it’s a partnership, and we’re keen to play our part in the local community.

“Our business is built on strong values, a set of first principles in which we make all day-to-day decisions on. These include fairness, value entertainment and crafting with care – and these are embodied within everything we do for our players. We have a responsibility to make sure that we don’t just adhere to regulations but that we go above and beyond the call of duty. This is where the technology and data come into everything we do. We have built our business and reputation entirely on openness, honesty and care.”

Watford FC, Commercial Director, Paul O’Brien, said, “The MrQ agreement is a very strong financial deal for the club and it also has longevity. MrQ has impressive roots in the local area and shares great synergy with our club values. As a Hertfordshire-based business, they are looking to impact really positively in the community.”
