Viacom18 secures multiple brands as broadcast sponsors for WPL 2024

With WPL piquing interest, we may expect a few more businesses joining as broadcast sponsors shortly for the ongoing edition.

The media broadcasting baron, Viacom18 has secured numerous brands as sponsors for JioCinema and Sports18‘s coverage of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2024.

While Kajaria Ceramics, Mobile Premier League (MPL), and Dream11 have been onboarded as co-presenting partners, the likes of Policybazaar, ACKO, World Gold Council, and APAR have been named associate partners of WPL 2024.

WPL 2024 has begun on a high note as the defending champions, Mumbai Indians (MI), defeated Delhi Capitals (DC) in a last-ball thriller at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Yastika Bhatia struck the most with 57 from 45 balls, while captain Harmanpreet Kaur hit an impressive 55. Having required five off the last ball, Sajeevan Sajana charged down the pitch and smacked Alice Capsey’s ball over the long-on boundary to give MI their first victory of the season. Interestingly, Sajana had dropped Capsey in the first inning, and this shot, in a way, settled the score.

With the cash-rich event already generating interest, we may expect a few more businesses to join in the coming days as broadcast sponsors for the ongoing edition.
