Sony Sports Network acquires Saudi Pro League media rights for upcoming two seasons

Sony LIV has been named the official streaming partner of the ROSHN Saudi Pro League.

One of the leading sports broadcasting entities, Sony Sports Network has acquired rights to the ROSHN Saudi Pro League (SPL) in India for the upcoming two seasons.

Indian football enthusiasts can enjoy the enthralling live action from the Saudi top-flight football competition on Sony Sports Network’s channels along with the OTT platform, Sony LIV, which is the official streaming partner.

Following the signing of the legendary Cristiano Ronaldo by Al Nassr, last year, there has been an influx of some of the most profound athletes from the European top-flight competitions. The likes of Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kante, Roberto Firmino, Riyad Mahrez, Sadio Mane and many more players have joined the competition. The most recent player to join SPL is the Brazilian Neymar Jr, who joined hands with Al Hilal.

Along with SPL, the sports network will also provide coverage of the Kings Cup and Saudi Super Cup, starting from the quarter-finals and semi-finals, respectively for both seasons.

Following the recent development, Sony Sports Network’s broadcast portfolio has strengthened as the entity also attains rights to UEFA EUROs, UEFA Nations League 2024 & 2026, as well as the UEFA Nations League Finals in 2025 & 2027. The sports broadcasting company also boosts its portfolio with the likes of the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, UEFA Europa Conference League, Emirates FA Cup, Durand Cup, Bundesliga and more.

After missing out on multiple cricket competitions, Sony Sports Network has managed to hold its ground by retaining and acquiring some of the highly-ranked global football competitions.
