Sky Sports retains British Open broadcast rights until 2028

Through this renewal, Sky Sports will continue to telecast the British Open, the Women’s Open, and various elite amateur events run by the R&A until 2028. 

The premier British sports broadcaster, Sky Sports has renewed the broadcast rights to the marquee golf event, the British Open.

Through this renewal, Sky Sports will continue to telecast the British Open, the Women’s Open, and various elite amateur events run by the R&A until 2028. 

The Open will also continue to be available for the fans on the broadcaster’s OTT platform, Now TV. 

Customers of Sky UK will be able to watch the action in high definition and use the digital and social media tools provided by Sky Sports to follow individual players and news stories from the tournaments.

Speaking on the renewal, Jonathan Licht, Sky Sports’ Managing Director, commented, “We are delighted to be able to extend our relationship with the R&A, as Sky Sports continues to be the home for the biggest golf tournaments in the world, including all the Majors this year.”

He also said, “The Open and the Women’s Open are two iconic championships and center-pieces of any sporting summer for fans. We look forward to continuing to offer our award-winning coverage across our Sky Sports platforms.”
