Melbourne Stars announce Dodo as principal partner for two years

Dodo's logo will appear on the front of both Melbourne Stars' BBL and WBBL playing outfits.

Melbourne Stars, an Australian T20 franchise cricket team, have inked a new sponsorship deal with the renowned Australian telecommunications company, Dodo.

With this deal, the brand has become the team’s principal partner for the next two years.

Dodo, an Australian-owned Internet, mobile, electricity, and gas service provider, is committed to providing affordable offerings while preserving uncompromising dependability and quality. The network, as a part of Vocus, Australia’s specialty fibre and network solutions provider, spans around 26,000km of secure, high-capacity fibre linking all Australian mainland cities with New Zealand, Asia, and the United States.

Before this deal, the club also signed partnerships with Lite n’ Easy and 13cabs.

As part of the deal, Dodo’s logo will appear on the front of both the team’s Big Bash League (BBL) and Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) playing outfits, marking the second occasion in the team’s history that both teams will have the same principal partner, indicating the team’s togetherness.

Furthermore, the branding of Dodo will also be seen on the dugout, on grass, and on LEDs across the stadium. The news also represents the first time Dodo has formed a relationship in the BBL and WBBL.

Melbourne Stars General Manager Blair Crouch, said, “It’s wonderful news for the club and our members and I’d like to express our thanks to Dodo for showing faith in the Stars and the W/BBL. Dodo’s values strongly align with ours at the Stars and we hope the partnership will help them connect to even more households across the country, given the Big Bash’s nationwide appeal.”

Dodo and the Melbourne Stars aspire to serve all Australians with affordable services and spectacular cricket experiences, demonstrating their shared commitment to excellence for consumers, fans, and communities.

Nitesh Naidoo, Chief Executive of Vocus Consumer, said, “We are delighted with Dodo’s partnership of the Melbourne Stars men’s and women’s teams for the next two exciting seasons of the Big Bash League. The BBL is known for its electrifying atmosphere, top-notch talent and passionate supporters, all qualities that we at Vocus associate with our Dodo brand and teams. Through our purpose of Building Critical Connections and Enabling Better Possibilities, we are committed to making a positive impact on the lives of individuals and communities. This shared sense of comradery is felt by the Melbourne Stars through their dedication to excellence on the field and within the community.”
