McLaren Racing forges association with Alpinestars

Ahead of the 2024 racing season, Alpinestars will serve as McLaren Racing's official technical apparel supplier.

The British motor racing team, McLaren Racing has announced a partnership with the Italian motorsports and action sports safety equipment manufacturer, Alpinestars.

Ahead of the 2024 racing season, for the Formula 1, IndyCar, Formula E, Extreme E, and F1 Academy teams, Alpinestars will serve as McLaren Racing’s official technical apparel supplier. The company will supply outfits for all drivers and crew members participating in the series.

Innovation and technological advancement are deeply ingrained in the roots of both Alpinestars and McLaren Racing. Both of these businesses were established in 1963 to realise a common objective and vision through collaboration and products.

Matt Dennington, Executive Director, Partnerships & Accelerator, McLaren Racing, said, “With Alpinestars as our new official partner for technical clothing, we’re excited to bring a new look across our McLaren Racing teams this 2024 season. We’re proud to outfit our drivers and crew members in their advanced technical gear.”

Chris Hillard, Communication Director, Alpinestars, said, “McLaren Racing’s storied history and commitment to competing at the highest level through innovation, technology and sustainability, coupled with their unrivaled presence across five major motorsport championships fits perfectly with the ethos of Alpinestars.

“Our technical departments look forward to a comprehensive technical partnership with McLaren Racing and to protect the drivers and crews across the various competitions and terrains on which their teams will operate.”

Established in 1963 by Sante Mazzarolo in Asolo, Italy, the company initially produced boots for hiking and skiing but soon turned its attention to producing boots for motocross racing and, soon after, road racing. The Italian alpine flower Stella Alpina, or edelweiss, which grows high in the mountains near the company’s founding, is the source of the English name of the business.
