Los Angeles FC prolong commercial ties with Chevron

Since partnering with LAFC in 2019, Chevron has conducted six futsal court refurbishments and donated equipment to schools and parks around Southern California.

The Major League Soccer (MLS) team, Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) have inked a three-year partnership extension with the multinational energy corporation, Chevron.

Chevron is among the world’s leading integrated energy businesses. The company believes that inexpensive, reliable, and ever-cleaner energy is critical to creating a more successful and sustainable society. Chevron generates crude oil and natural gas; develops transportation fuels, lubricants, petrochemicals, and additives; and explores innovations to benefit the business and the industry.

Since partnering with LAFC in 2019, the California-based firm has conducted six futsal court refurbishments and donated equipment to schools and parks around Southern California.

Chevron will also continue to demonstrate its community engagement by functioning as the presenting partner for two football pitch refurbishments over a three-year period within the wider Southern California region.

LAFC Co-President & CBO Larry Freedman, said, “We are thrilled that Chevron will remain a part of the Black & Gold family. Since 2018 we have worked together with Chevron to be a Force for Good in our region by providing resources and opportunities for youth soccer players. Chevron shares LAFC’s goal of elevating our community through the world’s game, and we look forward to continuing to support and inspire others through our work together.”

The cooperation underscores Chevron’s dedication to local communities by providing secure spaces for local youth to assemble and compete in the game.

Jenny Macintosh, Soccer Program Manager at Chevron, said, “We are so excited to continue our partnership with LAFC. This opportunity allows us to bring soccer to kids through a variety of programs throughout the year, including our Chevron Soccer Academy and futsal court refurbishment in Bakersfield and Los Angeles. We are proud to continue supporting the community both on and off the field.”

In addition to the renovations, LAFC will continue to take part in the Chevron Soccer Academy in Southern California. The Chevron Soccer Academy’s purpose is to make football opportunities more accessible by giving participants the necessary resources, information, and support systems to learn and flourish.

The collaboration will also involve expanded community-focused programmes and player appearances, along with match-day fan engagement features at the BMO Stadium in the forthcoming MLS seasons.
