ITV secures media rights for Serie A until the end of the season

According to the agreement, which began on April 6, one Serie A match every week will be accessible to watch on ITVX.

The British free-to-air public broadcast television network, ITV has confirmed that it will broadcast Serie A matches live for free until the end of the season.

According to the agreement, which began on April 6, one Italian top-flight football match every week will be accessible to watch on ITVX, the broadcaster’s streaming platform.

As per the arrangement, ITV will broadcast eight matches in total, which already began with Empoli FC vs Torino FC. Upcoming fixtures include Bologna FC vs AC Monza on April 13 and Verona FC vs Udinese Calcio on April 20. Further fixtures are yet to be finalised and will be announced in accordance with the Serie A calendar.

This agreement expands ITV Sport’s portfolio of events, featuring Six Nations rugby, the Rugby World Cup, England Women’s qualifications and friendlies, and UEFA EURO 2024, among others.

The FA Cup has been a staple of ITV Sports broadcasting for the past three years, with the rights shared with partner fee-to-air broadcaster, BBC. Notably, the BBC and TNT Sports also recently signed to broadcast the FA Cup over the next four years, keeping ITV sans competition.

Furthermore, Serie A also recently went through media rights adjustments, with Telecom Italia (TIM) and DAZN striking a new arrangement last month that will allow TimVision users to continue watching Serie A for the next five seasons.
