India vs West Indies 2022 3rd T20I: Suryakumar Yadav powers India to gain lead in the series

With this win, once again team India have claimed lead in the five matche T20I series 2-1.

In the third T20I match of India tour of West Indies 2022, India beat West Indies by seven wickets at the Warner Park in St.Kitts.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to bowl first. It was a right choice given that the home team only managed to make 164 runs in 20 overs. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ravichandran Ashwin and Arshdeep Singh were economical in their spells which allowed the Men in Blue to chase the target.

While chasing, captain Sharma got retired hurt early in the innings and as matter of concern, fans may have seen his last outing in the Caribbean. Suryakumar Yadav (76) batted his hearts out. The right handed batsman smashed an outstanding half century which included eight fours and four sixes. Furthermore, Shreyas Iyer (24) and Rishabh Pant (33) also helped India chase the given total in just 19 overs.

In the first innings, almost every batsman contributed equally around 20’s which helped Kyle Mayers (72) brilliant half century. The southpaw batsman hit eight fours and four sixes which helped Windies reach to a total of 164/5.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar scaled two wickets tonight in the first inning. With him, Hardik Pandya and Arshdeep Singh got one wicket each.

For WI, Dominic Drakes, Jason Holder and Akeal Hosein managed to claim one wicket each.

Suryakumar Yadav was named Man of the Match for his amazing batting performance. With this win, once again team India have claimed lead in the five matche T20I series 2-1.
