India vs New Zealand 1st ODI: Match preview, head-to-head and streaming details

India lead the head-to-head competition between the two teams.

In the New Zealand tour of India 2023, the first ODI will take place on Wednesday, January 18 at the Rajeev Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad at 1:30 PM IST.

The Men in Blue are off to a quality commencement to 2023 as they will be heading into this upcoming fixture on the back of clean sweeping Sri Lanka in the past week. The Indians have ticked off all boxes in their maiden series of the year, the top-order veterans have been chipping in massive runs while the bowling unit has been on the money throughout. Rohit Sharma and his clan will look to bag yet another series on their road to the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023.

On the other end, New Zealand will walk into this series after beating India in November 2022 at home, in addition to outplaying Pakistan in an away tour in the ODI format. The Kiwis will still be an underdog in this series as they will be without Kane Williamson, Trent Boult and Tim Southee. The Blackcaps will be helmed by Tom Latham and will be looking forward to executing the daunting task of outplaying the Indians in their own den.
