In the 17th match of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, the two-time World Cup winner, India will take on Bangladesh, tomorrow, October 19, at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune at 2 PM IST.
With three excellent victories in their first three games, the Indian team is on a fantastic run and presently leads the points table. Team India will try to put up a huge total, or rather feel confident about chasing whatever score will be on the board, as they are once again playing in a batting paradise. The Men in Blue look magnificent with the willow, with Virat Kohli and captain Rohit Sharma in flawless form. Along with them, the likes of Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, and others also showcased their talent at whatever opportunity they got. Shubman Gill is also back in the playing XI, and to bat on this pitch would give him a perfect opportunity to get back to scoring big. With the ball as well, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Ravindra Jadeja, and others are routinely taking wickets, which is another advantage for the home team.
Bangladesh, on the other hand, began their campaign with a convincing win against Afghanistan, but since then, they have struggled in their previous two games and are in dire need of a turnaround. In a recent Asia Cup 2023 match between these two teams, Bangladesh defeated India by six runs. However, this Indian side is unique, and given its current form, it will be extremely difficult for the Tigers to overcome the Indian challenge. Shakib Al Hassan, Mushfiqur Rahim, and Mahmudullah, the mainstays of Bangladeshi cricket, will need to helm the team from the front. While the keeper-batter still appears to be in excellent shape, the other two need to buckle up soon. Another significant area of worry for the Bangladeshi team is their lack of adequate influence in the bowling department.
