Happy Birthday Shah Rukh Khan: Versatile In Cricket, Just Like Acting

SRK's passion for cricket is well known with four franchises under his belt.

The Bollywood superstar, an ardent cricket lover and owner of multiple cricket franchises, Shah Rukh Khan turned 57 today i.e. November 2, 2022.

Khan’s passion for cricket is well known, given his first-ever acquisition of a sports team with the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

SRK’s KKR is one of the successful teams in the marquee Indian tournament with two title victories (2012 & 2014).

The powerhouse of acting didn’t just limit himself to owning a team in the IPL, he also went overseas. Apart from KKR, the co-owner of Knight Riders Group, SRK also has three more cricket teams under his belt – Trinbago Knight Riders, Los Angeles Knight Riders, and Abu Dhabi Knight Riders.

Trinbago Knight Riders have been the most successful team among SRK’s franchises as the club has won the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) title four times. SRK ventured into women’s cricket with the women’s team of Trinbago Knight Riders.

Moreover, the Los Angeles-based franchise, LA Knight Riders, will be one of the clubs playing in the forthcoming Major League Cricket (MLC) in the United States. Shah Rukh’s company will also contribute to the construction of a cricket stadium in the city.

Well, it could have cost Shah Rukh Khan a fortune to invest in not one, but four cricket teams. However, with a net worth of INR 5727 crore, it appears to be a trifling decrease in his pocket.

Apart from cricket, SRK is preparing to return to the big screen after a nearly three-and-a-half-year absence. He has three films in the works: Siddharth Anand’s ‘Pathaan,’ which co-stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham, Atlee’s ‘Jawan,’ which stars Nayanthara, and Rajkumar Hirani’s ‘Dunki,’ which stars Taapsee Pannu.
