The Global Chess League (GCL), the world’s premier chess competition, has announced a sponsorship agreement with the Indian consumer electronics brand, boAt.

In accordance with this agreement, boAt will act as the championship’s official wearable partner for the first season.

The organisation announced this news on its social media outlets with a caption, “Announcing @RockWithboAt as the official wearables partner of the Tech Mahindra Global Chess League. For music and chess sails across nations.”

The fastest-growing consumer electronics company in India, boAt was started in 2015 by Aman Gupta and Sameer Ashok Mehta. It produces a variety of headphones, stereos, portable chargers, premium tough cables, Bluetooth earbuds and speakers, earphones, and other accessories.

The first season of GCL is all set to begin on June 21 and will run until July 2, 2023. The tournament will feature a “one-of-a-kind” joint team arrangement with six players on each side, including at least two women. The yearly league will feature an innovative mixed-team concept in which each of the six clubs will compete in a total of 10 double round-robin matches, with the winner of each game being determined by a simultaneous best-of-six board scoring system.
