DD Sports to provide coverage of SAFF Championship 2023

SAFF Championship 2023 will kick start tonight with India and Pakistan taking on each other.

The public sports broadcaster, DD Sports has acquired the rights to provide coverage of the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Championship 2023.

The highly anticipated football competition will kick off tonight i.e. Wednesday, June 21 with arch-rivals India and Pakistan taking on each other at 7:30 PM IST at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru.

The hosts will be heading into this tournament as the defending champion and also the most successful team with victories in 1993, 1997, 1999, 2005, 2009, 2011, 2015, and 2021 editions.

Carrying the momentum from the Hero Intercontinental Cup 2023 final victory, the Indian team will look forward to starting its SAFF 2023 campaign on a higher note by beating the neighbours.

The competition will witness eight teams divided into two groups, India, Pakistan, Kuwait, and Nepal, in Group 1. Group B consists of Lebanon, Bangladesh, Maldives, and Bhutan. The knockout stage will include two semi-final fixtures and a final. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the playoffs.

Earlier this week, FanCode also bagged digital media rights to the competition. Football enthusiasts can enjoy the tournament on the digital platform’s mobile app, and TV app available via Android TV, Amazon Fire TV Stick, Jio STB, Samsung TV, Airtel XStream, and OTT Play.
