CSK vs RR match on JioCinema records 2.2 crore concurrent viewers

JioCinema shattered all prior records when Mahendra Singh Dhoni delivered a glimpse of his glory days by smashing a couple of sixes in the final overs last Wednesday.

The Indian Premier League (IPL)’s 2023 digital broadcaster, JioCinema‘s coverage of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) vs Rajasthan Royals (RR) match recorded the most concurrent viewers ever.

JioCinema shattered all prior records when CSK captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni displayed a glimpse of his glory days by smashing a couple of sixes in the final overs, bringing the concurrent audience to 2.2 crore.

But in a tight IPL match on Wednesday at Chepauk, RR’s seamer Sandeep Sharma delivered a few flawless block-hole deliveries to give the Royals a three-run triumph over the four-time IPL winners. The cash-rich League saw its biggest viewership ever during the tense second innings.

According to Viacom18‘s streaming app, the IPL has been gaining millions of new fans every day.

Over 550 crore people have seen JioCinema’s broadcast of the IPL 2023 as a result of its free availability to all viewers in India. This came after a strong first weekend that witnessed 147 crore views, breaking yet another record for the IPL’s highest-ever opening weekend on digital. JioCinema has also recorded the largest number of installs of any app ever.
