COTA announces collaboration with Cash App for F1 US Grand Prix 2022

Race attendees will obtain a 15% refund on food and beverage purchases made at COTA using the Cash App debit card or app.

The Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, has inked a new collaboration with the American mobile payment service, Cash App. This new deal has been formed ahead of the 2022 Formula 1 United States Grand Prix, which will be held on October 21-23.

As terms of the arrangement, race attendees will obtain a 15% refund on food and beverage purchases made at COTA using the Cash App debit card or app.

Scott Wessels, COTA, Vice President, of Commercial Partnerships, said, “COTA is really excited to partner with Cash App on this one-of-a-kind sponsorship and we’re thrilled to offer fans a seamless and instant reward on their food and beverage purchases through Cash App – the best partnerships are the ones that enhance the fan experience and this does just that.”

Last October, a record 400,000 spectators visited the US Grand Prix race weekend, culminating in a long-term agreement.

COTA is hoping to cash in on the new Formula One boom in the United States by providing its first-ever consolidated premium ticket, travel, hotel, and conceptual accommodation bundles for this week’s US Grand Prix.

The hospitality package was developed in collaboration with Elevate Sports Ventures, which was ordained by COTA in February 2021 to encourage ticketing and premium accommodation sales, approach, and provider.

Besides that, COTA chairman Bobby Epstein said he proposes to boost race attendance in the years ahead due to high fan demand, such as the addition of a new grandstand to facilitate an additional 6,000 fans.

According to Epstein, “Our capacity could be a lot higher, and that’s one thing we’ll look to do over the next few years. The demand in the US right now is incredible, and will absolutely support three races, and could support many more.”
