CAF onboards Unilever for next two AFCON editions 

Unilever will also be putting pivotal efforts to enhance football initiatives all over Africa.

The governing body for football in Africa, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has signed a partnership with the British multinational FMCG brand, Unilever

Through the alliance, Unilever brands such as Rexona, Dove, Dove Men+Care, and Axe will be partnering with the men’s African Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2023 and women’s AFCON 2024.

The brand will also be putting pivotal efforts to enhance football initiatives all over Africa.

Speaking on the partnership, Dr. Patrice Motsepe, President, CAF, commented, “Our partnership with Unilever and our sponsors are contributing to CAF achieving its objective of making CAF competitions and African football globally competitive and appealing to football fans and broadcasting viewers in Africa and worldwide.”

He also added, “We are pleased to welcome Unilever as the latest official sponsor of the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Côte d’Ivoire 2023 and the TotalEnergies Women’s Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2024.

Through this partnership, we are also excited to connect with the future generation of football athletes across the African continent and help them grow.”

The dates of the women’s Africa Cup of Nations 2024 are yet to be confirmed, although it will take place in Morocco’s summer of 2024. The men’s Africa Cup of Nations 2023 will start on January 13.

Unilever, a global consumer goods firm, was formed on September 2, 1929, through the merger of the British soap manufacturer Lever Brothers and the Dutch margarine producer Margarine Unie. London serves as the company’s main headquarters.
