Australian Professional Leagues obtains three-year sponsorship deal with eToro

The deal between eToro and Australian Professional Leagues has been inked for A-League Men and A-League Women.

The governing body for football in Australia, the Australian Professional Leagues (APL) has inked a new three-year sponsorship agreement with the social trading and multi-asset investment entity, eToro.

The deal has been inked for the highest-level professional men’s and women’s football leagues in Australia and New Zealand, i.e., A-League Men and A-League Women.

For the 2023–2024 season, eToro, the official trading and investing platform of the A-Leagues, will have its branding on the back of every men’s playing jersey and on every substitution board in the A-League Women and A-League Men competitions.

Moreover, along with its strong digital presence across A-Leagues media, eToro will also be the owner of the “eToro Assist of the Month” award as well as all trade and transfer content for the duration of the season.

While ASIC, Australia’s financial regulator, has been keeping a close eye on eToro due to its recent surge in popularity among retail traders, the regulator sued the company in August as part of its crackdown on high-risk CFD products. Following its unsuccessful IPO effort last year, eToro, which ranks among the top sports sponsorship spenders among retail FX and CFD brokers worldwide, has also been coping with a decline in valuation.

APL’s Commissioner, Nick Garcia, said, “We are delighted to announce eToro as our new Official Trading and Investing Platform partner for the next three years. With attendance and viewership records already broken in the Liberty A-League Women, and the Isuzu UTE A-League Men kicking off with a bang, we are ready for an incredible season of A-Leagues football. eToro has a long standing connection with football globally and we look forward to developing our long term partnership.”

eToro, Australia’s Managing Director, Robert Francis, said, “We are inspired by the strong sense of community within the A-Leagues’ fan base that reflects eToro’s focus on community, collaboration and shared knowledge. Following the success of the FIFA Women’s World Cup and as part of our mission to empower everyone to take control of their financial destinies, we are excited to be supporting both male and female teams. We hope to inspire more people to explore investing as a way to secure their financial future. We are looking forward to attending the games and enjoying some great football.”

eToro is a prominent online broker and one of the top sports sponsors worldwide. Its portfolio includes sponsorships with West Ham United, AS Monaco, Arsenal FC, and more.
