Aston Villa FC, Vissel Kobe strike strategic collaboration

Aston Villa and Vissel Kobe will collaborate to construct a joint development framework for players and staff that will improve youth development.

The Premier League side, Aston Villa FC have inked a new collaborative partnership with the Japanese club, Vissel Kobe, thereby enhancing their worldwide network and player growth process.

The J1 League team will be joining ZED FC and Vitória Sport Clube from Portugal and Egypt, respectively, in the expanding V Sports worldwide network of clubs.

Villa and Vissel Kobe will collaborate to construct a joint development framework for players and staff that will improve youth development and facilitate the cooperative exchange of concepts, methods, and best practices as part of this exciting new chapter in the history of both clubs. Moreover, with this cooperation, the upcoming talented Japanese players will have more opportunities to play in Europe and, subsequently, at Aston Villa.

This connection will continue to the first team level, with an interchange of technical expertise and coaching methods as well as partnerships in the fields of performance, scouting and recruiting, data analysis, and general squad management.

A senior delegation from Kobe will head to Birmingham towards the end of this month to commemorate the commencement of the cooperation, and two of Vissel Kobe’s exceptional U16 youngsters will also practice with the Villa Academy during the course of the trip.

In addition, as part of the new collaboration, a Villa Academy squad will go to Japan in 2024 to compete in an international competition.
