ACB scores partnership with Amul for ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023

Amul has been named the principal sponsor of the Afghanistan cricket team for the upcoming ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023.

The apex body of cricket in Afghanistan, the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has scored a partnership with the leading Indian FMCG entity, Amul.

Following the agreement, Amul has been named the principal sponsor of the Afghanistan cricket team for the upcoming ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023.

The branding of the company will be featured on the leading arm of the jerseys as well as the training kits, which will be worn by the Afghani players during their World Cup encounters. 

Speaking on the alliance, Mr. Naseeb KhanCEO of the Afghanistan Cricket Board, said, “Amul has been ACB’s commercial partner in the past and we are pleased to have them on board again for this year’s event as well. This is a positive move for the ACB & Firebird ESM and we will be looking forward to working with Amul in the future”. 

Mr. Jayen Mehta, Managing Director, Amul, stated, “Sports is an important medium for Amul to connect with today’s generation. Milk is the world’s original energy drink and is consumed by all sportspersons. We also celebrate the values of milk which are imbibed by today’s youth with our BeMoreMilk initiative which will feature the Afghanistan team. Amul and Afghanistan share an old association. Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan, popularly known as Frontier Gandhi had visited Amul in 1969 and had met Dr. V Kurien and studied the activities of our dairy cooperative.”

Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), better known as Amul, is India’s top food product marketing organisation with an $8 billion annual brand revenue. Amul was created in 1946, a network of 79 sales offices, 10,000 dealers, and more than one million retailers allows Amul to operate throughout India. The company sells dairy products that are consumed on a daily basis, including ice cream, cottage cheese, butter, ghee, milk, and milk powder. One of the most well-known brands in India, it has produced some amazing advertisements.

The Hashmatullah Shahidi-led team will be starting its World Cup campaign against Bangladesh on Saturday, October 7 at the picturesque HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala. In this edition, the Afghani side will be looking forward to impressing the cricketing world with its splendid performance, as they have top-notch pedigree of players such as Rashid Khan, Mohammad Nabi, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, and many such rising stars.
