Sky Sports extend deal with LPGA and LET

Sky Sports will be broadcasting a total of 35 women’s golf tournaments including all 5 Majors, the Curtis Cup, and the Augusta National Women’s Amateur.

Sky Sports has expanded its coverage deal with the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA), and the Ladies European Tour (LET) as it will continue to air all five women’s golf majors for the next three years.

Sky Sports will be seen broadcasting the Women’s PGA Championship, the Evian Championship, ANA Inspiration, US Women’s Open and the AIG Women’s Open until 2024. Under the new deal, they’ll also be adding the Women’s Scottish Open and the Solheim Cup to their portfolio until 2023.

Sky in a statement remarked that in 2022, its women’s golf coverage will increase ‘with more LPGA and LET events than ever before’, including the new Aramco Series.

Commenting on the partnership extension, Jason Wessely, Director of Golf at Sky Sports, said, “Sky Sports has been a proud supporter of women’s golf for decades.

“Today we are pleased to announce new agreements with the LPGA and LET, both of which are adding new events to their schedules.”

He further added, “One of the golfing highlights of this season was the thrilling AIG Women’s Open at Carnoustie when we showed more hours of coverage than ever before. Today the Solheim Cup reaches a conclusion – and it never fails to deliver drama and excitement, taking its place as one of the must-see women’s sports events on the calendar.”

As the broadcaster celebrates 25 years of Women’s Golf on Sky, during the year we will see Sky broadcast a total of 35 women’s golf tournaments including all 5 Majors, the Curtis Cup and the Augusta National Women’s Amateur.

In 2022 that number will be further increased as it will add the new Aramco Series and AIG Women’s Open to be held at Muirfield to its broadcasting portfolio.
