India vs Sri Lanka 2nd T20 postponed to tomorrow; Indian player tests positive for COVID-19

The second T20I between India and Sri Lanka at the Premadasa Stadium in Colombo has been postponed after Krunal Pandya tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday, according to sources. The match has been rescheduled for Wednesday only if all the players test negative.

India is currently leading the T20I series 1-0 after beating the Lankans in the first T20I by 38 runs. Krunal Pandya pocketed one wicket and conceded 16 runs in his allotted four overs. The hosts have to claim the fixture on Wednesday to keep themselves alive in the bilateral series. It’s the first time that an organization dealing with cryptocurrency and bitcoin is sponsoring a major bilateral series in cricket. The players of both teams are currently isolated according to the standard protocols.

The ODI series between the two teams was also postponed earlier due to the COVID-19 cases in the home team’s contingent. Sri Lanka’s analyst G T Niroshan and batting coach Grant Flower had tested positive for COVID-19 ahead of the ODI bilateral series upon their arrival from England.
