Messi makes a splash with Mas+ hydration drink

Mas+ is formulated to replenish essential electrolytes, vitamins, and antioxidants, all while keeping the taste refreshing and the calorie count low.

The footballing great, Lionel Messi has stepped off the pitch and into the beverage business with the launch of Mas+, his own line of hydration drinks.

The sports drink is formulated to replenish essential electrolytes, vitamins, and antioxidants, all while keeping the taste refreshing and the calorie count low.

Commenting on the launch, Lionel Messi, said, “I wanted a drink that had the ingredients I need and amazing flavour. No compromise on quality ingredients. So I went to work on a drink of my own.

“To achieve my goals, I learned that hydration plays a very important role. I have always had in mind to improve. I’ve always been about improvement, and wanted to find a drink with both amazing taste and the right ingredients.

“But many drinks that are good for you taste bad. Many flavoured drinks have high levels of unhealthy ingredients, so people who drink them consume more sugar, calories, artificial ingredients, and even caffeine than they realize. You shouldn’t have to choose between better ingredients and better taste.

“I wanted a drink to inspire everyone to feel like a champion in every part of life.

“To achieve my goals, I first had to learn the importance of health and hydration, I spent time searching but I just couldn’t find one with both amazing taste and the right ingredients. So I went to work on a drink of my own. One with more of the flavours I love and a balanced blend of electrolytes, a drink I feel is better for my family and friends.”

Mas+’s flavours pay homage to Messi’s illustrious career and personality. Miami Punch celebrates his current team, Inter Miami CF. Orange d’Or is a cheeky nod to his record-breaking eight Ballon d’Or awards. Berry Copa Crush and Limón Lime League round out the options, all using natural flavours and avoiding artificial sweeteners and colours. Each 16.9-ounce bottle packs a hydrating punch with only 10 calories.

This launch marks Messi’s foray into the booming beverage market, where health-conscious consumers reign supreme. Mas+ aims to carve its own niche by offering a product that bridges the gap between functional sports drinks and mainstream beverages, appealing to both athletes pushing their limits and casual consumers seeking a refreshing pick-me-up.

Meanwhile, on the field, Messi’s Inter Miami continues to dominate, currently leading the Major League Soccer (MLS) Eastern Conference table with 10 wins in 18 games. The maestro himself has contributed a staggering 12 goals and nine assists so far. His next appearance is set for June 16 against Philadelphia Union at 5:00 AM IST.
